zzzz...keep having funny dreams. talking to people, waking up not sure if it's really been said or not. one fine day might meet the person that i was "talking" to and blurt out "remember that day u said this?" and then realise i dreamt it.

ok lah think my brain quite fried liao lah, gotta head out soon for lunch with the project group soons but my stomach is really OFF...it's churning tumble washing and spin drying man. i realise with irritation that my face, post-exams, is in a terrible state. complexion really sucky. and it's gonna be a long day out today, so my face is so gonna pay for it...sigh think better go buy some of those oil blotter things.
anyway the newspapers over the past few days are full of this aussie drug trafficking thing, with the guy due to hanging soon, and everyone is getting agitated with the aussies calling for trade bans, boycotting of singaporean services etc.
Singapore didnt stand down on the Michael Fay incident, and i hope this is the same case here. it's not that our laws are unknown, in fact it's so well established that if you land in sg with drugs over a certain limit, you have to be prepared for severe punishment, and possibly the death penalty. and the law is the law, it'ssupposedly blind but fair.
i realise with much amusement that they are opposing to the death penalty, only because its an australian, but not opposing to the death penalty to be dealt on others that are on death row, not only in singapore but in the states as well. in fact, they cheered when the bali bombers were put to death. so what's that again about the inhumane practice of execution?
the bomb killed 200 australians. but, the amount of heroin trafficked by this aussie was enough to provide close to a thousand hits and potentially affect the lives of hundreds of people and their families. if anything, singapore's stringent drug laws serve to help its neighbors fight the sourge of illegal drugs. if sg stands down, what kind of signals would we be sending to the syndicate - dont worry, we welcome australian drug traffickers, the res to of you can go and die?
however, it is admirable, if you think about it, how the australians are fighting so fervently for their citizen, who's not even born in australia, but is instead vietnamese born. hell, local born singaporeans somes times don't even feel like a singaporean. i dun even feel genuinely proud that our china-bought badminton/table/tennis player but now singapore citizen, won some game. so i guess such cases are good to inspire feelings of patriotism and such, and adds a value to the citizenship. it's not unusual for the aussie gov to plead for mercy in these cases, but i think the opposition parties using this as an opportunity to stir up a lota shit for their own benefit.
aiyah ok i just woke up and all groggy AND this is not an essay so sorry if my little banter on this matter is weakly substantiated eh. but oh well, i AM proud of sg for having these strict drug laws, its one of those things that i appreciate.
