U know what annot? just now i was surfing friendster, thinking bout whether to blog bout the funny msgs i get on friendster. friendster, other than a good way to kill minutes, fuel gossip...on oh yah, to keep in touch with the lives of pple u've met thru pri-sec-jc-uni-work and their gfs/bfs/mistresses/gigolos etc....is also sometimes a source of somewhat exasperated amusement. if those two words should ever together.

somehow the removal of all male pics on my friendster even tho the status remains as "married" (it's nicely vague. no one knows to take it seriously or not. so i got excuse to not change the status EVAR, and so gossip mongers have nothing to rely on. muahaha. the evilness of it all eh), does not discourage funny msgs. maybe it's my profile pic...but i was at home slacking, and the pic was taken by my MOTHER. :\ maybe it's the faux cleavage thanks to sparkie's scarf? hais. i'll photoshop it off one of these days eh, unless any of my handsome male friends wanna post their pics in my friendster?

- A Tip for the Guys-

1 . Select the Target
If she says she's single and says she is looking forward to meeting men, she probably is, so therefore thus, msg her, she's probably looking forward to it, u'll prolly get a reply. if ur friend say she single on friendster, but she not looking for pple etc...i tell u..is BLUFF one. when pple msg her, she secretly happy one. (wah i say like i know so well hor. maybe i oso secretly happy ego boost hahahahha!but eh...i am AMUSED ok.)

2. The First touch Contact
Well you can do two things - u can just add as a friend, and msg, or msg asking to be added as a friend. sometimes, it's better to do both. it's always good to be proactive sometimes. i mean, wah lao eh, u wanna jio the girl, u mean, she must ADD u ah? "......."

3. Word Carefully
politeness of course, is always a plus. it's always nice to read polite msgs. who would wanna respond to someone rude?? it also says a lot about YOU.


But do check your spelling and grammer, and quit it with the short forms. I mean, if you're not even gonna spend the energy to send a proper msg, whats there to say bout your sincerity right? AND PLEASE KEEP YOUR "HAFS, NOE, XCHANGE" and any other short form sms lingo to yourself!!!!!!

No...i dunch want to make fren wif u can???

and also...keep the demands to yourself (i want ur number, i want to be ur friend, i want to BEFRIEND u etc)yes, you're trying to befriend her, yes, but don't have to ASK for it. i'll elaborate more on this later. Lemme continue,

if u really don't know what to say, but want to make ur presence felt, u can always try the smile function available on friendster, like so:

all i can say is, i would expect that the response rate will be of low probability, and that higher sucess rate would only be on young wilful playful things. say, 17 or 18, who reply "aw that's sweet, u're such a darl."


4. Witty is fine, but don't go overboard.
i mentioned earlier, about keeping your demands to urself. Some times a smart msg, is often one that doesnt approach the GOAL. namely, goal based DEMANDING topics, would be a direct"CAN I HAVE YOUR NUMBER", "CAN I BE YOUR FRIEND", "I WANT TO KNOW U/BEFRIEND U/F U" etc etc. obviously, if u send the last LAST selection to the opposite sex, i dont think u need a guide to pick up girls, but rather, a guide to being a human being. but anyway, when it comes to the msg tone, the smart way about it, is to be indirect. quite some time ago, when i was youthful, wilfull, and playful (ful ful ful), the best msg i got was "that's a funny profile! good on ya!". it was friendly, non-pickupish, which was why he got a reply of "Haha, thanks" and a start of things on a good foot yes? in other words, be friendly, rather than lecherous. u'll up ur chances on getting that reply.


Besides, how can u answer someone "can i be your friend". yes u can be my friend? har. friendship development is a process, not something u can purchase or say yes to. sometimes pple just cant get along. and some pple just become friends without asking for it.

4. Choose your pictures and friends wisely
If u surf in, and all your friends are female, skankyslutty lookin, or, your pic shows u in ur army uniform, or in a worn out holey at home. and also, try to refrain putting up pictres of your perfume hairspray collection, pictures of u chilling in a void deck with your gal pal (i swear, i saw this before). i can safely say, it's not a good idea. so yah, u know what to do lah hor.


TIP TO THE GIRLS
- if he's picking girls up on friendster, u can be sure u're not the only one. use ur better judgement!
