...Because life isnt meant to be fair
but life is good.
I'm down with a cold, it hit me this morning and now my head's all foggy, and i'm going - "ahh i cant take MC i need to go to work!!!"
but luckily, it's the weekend, so i spent my entire saturday popping panadols and getting some much needed rest.
surfing the net, i find myself thinking that i'm pretty contented with my life.so some other things i've been thinking about:
1 - i was pretty fortunate to have my parents pay my tuition fees using cpf, as opposed to having to pay it myself whilst studying. tho need to pay it back now, after graduation, but i suppose, gotta look at the bright side of things.
2 - i don't have a car, no rich sugar daddy to co-pay a vehicle for me, but i have CONCESSION till mid 2007 because i didnt go for honours year, but my bus card is valid for an honours year! :D hey this is to make up for all the years i stayed in hostel and didnt take the bus everyday - must make up for lost time ok! my sis been asking me to get my own ride, but come on, i'm not willing to spend $1k a month on a CAR, what money would i have left for LIVING essentials like food? bills? and parental allowance?!?!?!? ithink i wont get a car till i'm married man, than can co-pay with my husband.
3 - my dad was kind enough to foot the bill for my first 2 years at hostel, tho i'm proud to say, i've managed to foot my final year by myself using my 22 years of ang pao money that was saved up. didnt want to be any more of a burden on my retired parents (more on this later, i have news on "retirement"!).
4. cash is low now, as usual, having enough money to last just one more week at work for meals - which is just nice because pay should be coming in, in a week or so. :) thank god man...if not i'm gonna starve. i'm so lookin forward to having a stable income. it sucks being so broke that u cant see a doc when u're sick - and now i have health benefits provided by the company. employment rocks, man. but oso, good to have the money to buy clothes - i've been wearing the same clothes to work every week.
I was telling bm, that i think the reason why i'm such a "simple girl", meaning, looking so simple in my t-shirt and jeans all the time, is because i don't dress up.
and the reason why i DONT dress up, is because i never had the money to shop whilst growing up. so i never KNEW how to dress up, how to shop, and how to be fashionable, and it just became a part of me. so u see the long skinny thing, along the shopping stretch, dressed in the tube with the big sun glasses a la paris hilton with the gorgeous tan lookin so devastatingly chic...well, i'm just not like that. i look frumpy in a dress, and i dont know style when i see it. i'm just a plain plain plain jane. i'm not really contented with being a plain jane, but it always works out that way. i guess i just never knew how. :S
which girl doesnt want to feel pretty?
5 - i feel like there's not enough hours in a day. i guess thats why i've fallen ill again.
6 - i miss my family.
***
as for the retirement bit i mentioned - my dad found a job! cool right? i suddenly feel a whole lot less-stressed. :)
thats all for tonight. i think i'm going back to bed. bye!
