argh. enough already!

it's drizzle-ly still. baah. but ok, i like the cold weather, i just hate it that it makes it a pain to go out at all.

u know ah. why can't humans be one of those birds that just mate for life. u see a bird, u have an affinity to it, u just innately come to the decision to stick to it, start a family raise a family and die. full stop.

why oh why, are humans serial daters?

even marraige is not THE END of the whole dating fiasco, especially now that monogamy seems to be becoming an ever increasing rarity. as says chris rock in his stand up comedy says, when a man meets his buddy's gf, he goes "i want a girl like her". when a woman meets her buddy's bf, she goes, i want HIM.

and it's evident what.

in one case, where a wife discovors funny msgs in hubby's phone, the wife calls the mysterious lady up and tell her "he's married - to ME" the lady replies "so what? i don't care if he's married!". (in this case Singaporean wife, Foreign hubby-stealer, pilot husband).

i'm not just saying that ALL women have no code of conduct as a decent thinking human being with morals like "married/attached men are no gos", but i'm just saying, it happens with increasing frequency. and i'm not saying that all men would stray, all i'm saying is when given the opportunity with a nubile young thing shamelessly WANTING you even though she knows u're married chances are that all some will give in.

so hence the serial, never ending chase for that perfect and illusionary nonsense for this thing called love. i don't think it exists. what it really should be called is TRUST. not love. the whole idea on what is love is screwed over by hollywood and everyone now has this romantic cartoon cupid version of love. nono. what love is, is actually trust. well, that's what i think anyway.

the pursuit, everybody just seems to tired of it. and when they're married, there's always this underlying obssession about faithfulness to the marraige. if trust is love, and love is trust, then therefore, love is something that must be earned, can be built, can be nurtured...but somethng that the entire world is running low of.

and of course, as in with all dating among human kind, the common phenomenon is that me-myself-and-i phenomenon ---- what makes YOU so special, that i would have to sacrifice the whole forest for a single tree?

unless of course, u can convince that one tree that it's the only one in the entire forest, then u can frolic when it's not looking eh.

there is no such thing as a stop to all flirtations. everyone flirts. it boosts the ego. over email, friendster, sms, msn...everyone flirts. when pple flirt with us, it's an ego boost cuz we're worthy enough to be flirted with. but i find flirtation over sms/msn/friendster is too close to home, because it allows for a continuous repetitive contact allowing for the building of a relationship. so i would be more comfortable with a harmless coffeeshop flirt. but flirting in all, we hate it when our partners do it, so why inflict in on ur partner. when i was attched, my first opening line to any seemingly motive driven individual is "oh haha something funny i went out with my bf the other day and then....".

it's not difficult to put on the table the presence of a significant other. it's just a matter of whether we want to or not. and if the guuy still wanna bug me if he knows i'm attached, then not my fault already what wah lao, just don't respond lor?

but i find, with increasing regularity, i encounter complaints about a bf/spouse/gf flirtatious ways with someone over friendster, msn, sms and what not. a random msg, is not that threatening. a conversation over friendster, msn sms is very threatening. i don't understand why pple cannot understand that. and the thing is, everything becomes a viscious cycle and everything becomes a tit for tat and this bad behaviour keeps propagating.

what do u tink? is pure monogamy really a thing of history? a dying practice? WHATS WRONG WITH PPLE?!!?!?!?

damn, if u're wondering, i'm writing this particular topic becuz i'm tired of the whole dating and questioning and insecurities. why cant i just know who is the one for me and charm him with my witty jokes and put to an end all these stupid dating nonsense and games that we play ?!?!?!???! AAAAHH. why cant humans just be more proactive. things will probably be a lot less complicated if we could all just push away all the fears and what not out of the window and stop thinking bout ourselves for a change.

I feel ur pain sista :P In the beginning love is always a game, a dating game. It's how you play your cards in the beginning that decides whether you have the winning hand in the end. But I always convince myself that if its meant to be its meant to be. The one for you is out there and you'll know when you find him.. its written in the stars babe! ***
