traumatised
wah lao yesterday went for lab and had to watch some videos and stuff that study animal and human development.
first, we watched abit on some chick embroyo thing where you conduct an experiment on eggs that have yolks that have little hearts pumping in them (eargh.)
And then, watched human development which really took the cake. there were footage and footage of sperm swimming around in the "body". first in the testicles and ejeculate and into the female body pre-fertilization.
i swear, after 5minutes you really start rooting for the little guys as they flap their tails furiously to get to the egg but mostly ended up being knocked outta the race.
then there was this rather hilarious part:
"the sperm know instinctively to swim towards the egg. but some, as seen here, attempt fertilizing round objects, which in this case, is a lone cell in the vacinity derieved from the female body".
*smacks forehead*
see. as long as girl can, as long as round can. SAME like the producer! Guys. *rolls eyes* tsk.
to film the whole flow of things in the human body, they actually stuck a tube with a cam up some poor volunteer's uretrha all the way down to his balls. i though i was the only one thinking "poor guy!" but when i looked around everyone had this very "eargh!!" look on their face. (strangely no one was sleeping)
Later part of the video also damn funny. they showed thermal sensor of blood flow around the human body, and since this was on human development thru conception etc, they showed blood flow around the sex organs. wah lao was like stifling a laugh lor. they actually went "when the male is stimulated the blood flow increases. the white parts are the warmest, the green parts are the coolest" and they actually showed a thermal sensor of a "stimulated" guy! WAH LAO!!! HAHAHAHHAHAHA how the guy do it with a thermal sensor and so many people watching man. omg.
okok...but the real kicker after all the video was the child birth one. at first i was all normal..side view of the birthing mother. Then wah lao the film cut so fast and it's so in your face - the child head crowning on the mom. omg lor. maciam alien lei! everyone went "aaaaaaaaaaaaaarrrrrhhhhh...." and now i know what mums mean by "the docs had to use a scissors and cut the skin to near the anus area" because omg...it was like the whole butt was split in two and this monster was coming out. FREAKY. i don't tihnk will ever getused to watching child birth man. felt so traumatised after that, and left the video room thinking "omg...i don't want to have kids man".
blah. ok to be fair, i always thought i'd have my own family next time. butbutbut...i hope in future things will be more ADVANCED than a pair of scissors. omg. can just like u know, beam it outta me?
then later went to another room to look at developmental models.
Behold, a giant plastic chicken egg:
yeah. i know what u're thnking. looks like a bloody eyeball.
k now the freakiest thing:
baby, actual size, 3 months. on it's own, it's not that freaky. but after the video, it was freaky. rubbery somemore! my lab mate actually took it out of the plastic container and placed it on her abdomen and said "wah. can fit meh?"
omg. *faint.*
off to work now! seeing the monsters again. :S

" Love ridden, I've looked at you
with the focus i gave to my birthday candles
I've wished on the lidded blue flame
under your brow
And baby, i wished for you
Nobody sees when you are lying in your bed
And I wanna crawl in with you
But I cry instead
I want your warm, but it will only make
Me colder when it's over
So I can't tonight, baby
No, not "baby" anymore-if I need you
i'll just use your simple name
only kisses on the cheek from now on
and in a little while, we'll only have to wave
My hand won't hold you down no more
the path is clear to follow through
I stood too long in the way of the door
and now i'm giving up on you
No, not "baby" any more-if i need you
i'll just use your simple name
only kisses on the cheek from now on
and in a little while, we'll only have to wave"
